The Carthage College men's cross country team (52-50) finished 29th at the Saturday, Oct. 18 Wisconsin-Oshkosh "AAE Invitational" at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis.
 
North Central College won the 40-team national event with 36 points, followed by Grand Valley State University at 69, Wisconsin-Eau Claire third at 140, Augustana College (Ill.) fourth at 154 and Wisconsin-Parkside fifth with 151 points.
 
Grand Valley State's Alan Peterson took individual honors with a time of 24:32.90.  Carthage's Michael Von Borstel (Jr., Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) led the Red Men with a 52nd-place finish and a time of 25:25.40.  Camren Howard (Fr., Olympia Fields, Ill./Chicago Heights-Marian Catholic) finished at 26:47.20, Dan Cotton (Fr., Carol Stream, Ill./Bartlett) at 27:08.40, Matt August (Fr., Mokena, Ill./New Lenox-Lincoln Way East) at 27:20.10, Caleb Jenks (Jr., Sullivan, Wis./Hartland-Lake Country Lutheran) at 27:31.90, Paul White Jr. (So., Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove-South) at 28:16.40 and Kevin Plazak (Jr., New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) at 28:57.80. 
 
The Red Men travel to Forsyth, Ill., on Saturday, Nov. 1 for the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Cross Country Championship at the Hickory Point Golf Course, beginning at 1 p.m.
