The Carthage College men's tennis team (7-6, 1-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) defeated non-conference opponent Westminster College (Mo., 2-10), 6-3, on Saturday, April 6 at Illinois Wesleyan University's Beadles-Morse Courts in Bloomington, Ill.

Jeff Lotz Jr. (Sr., Racine, Wis./Horlick, 18-11) lost his No. 1 singles match to the Blue Jays' Tony Stephenson, the latter winning, 6-2, 6-4.
Alex Boomgarden (Fr., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area, 15-7) won his No. 2 singles match over Anthony Becker, 6-1, 6-2.
Ryan Jump (Fr., Mundelein, Ill., 15-5) was a winner at No. 3 singles, as was
Juan Robles (So., Bogota, Columbia, 4-12) at No. 4 singles,
Brian Howes (Sr., Bartlett, Ill., 15-8) at No. 5 singles and
Tom Klassman (Sr., Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove, 9-10) at No 6 singles.
Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of Lotz and Boomgarden (12-9) lost to Tony Stephenson/Anthony Becker, 9-8(2). The No. 2 doubles team of
Conor Moon (So., Sussex, Wis./Woodstock (Ill.)-Marian Central Catholic) and
Brandon Curtis (Jr., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge, 6-8) was a winner over Westminster, but the No. 3 tandem of Howes and Jump (8-8) lost to the Blue Jays.
Carthage plays host to Wisconsin Lutheran College on Sundayday, April 14 in an 8:30 a.m. match at the East Side Tennis & Racquet Club in Kenosha, Wis.
