Jeff Lotz Jr. (Sr., Racine, Wis./Horlick, 18-12) lost his No. 1 singles match to the Thunder's Ryan Kreis, the latter winning, 7-6, 2-6, 6-0.
Alex Boomgarden (Fr., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area, 15-8) lost his No. 2 singles match to Josh Ward, Ward winning, 6-4, 6-1.
Ryan Jump (Fr., Mundelein, Ill., 15-6) lost at No. 3 singles, as did
Juan Robles (So., Bogota, Columbia, 4-13) at No. 4 singles.
Brian Howes (Sr., Bartlett, Ill., 16-8) was a winner at No. 5 singles, but
Tom Klassman (Sr., Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove, 9-11) fell at No 6 singles.
Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of Lotz and Boomgarden (12-10) lost to Josh Ward/Ryan Kreis, 8-6. The No. 2 doubles team of
Conor Moon (So., Sussex, Wis./Woodstock (Ill.)-Marian Central Catholic) and
Brandon Curtis (Jr., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge, 6-8) lost to Wheaton, but the No. 3 tandem of Howes and Jump (9-8) was a winner over the Thunder.
Carthage plays host to Wisconsin Lutheran College (4-4) on Sunday, April 14 in an 8:30 a.m. match at the East Side Tennis & Racquet Club in Kenosha, Wis.
