The Carthage College women's tennis team (5-6, 4-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) concluded a three-match spring trip to Orlando, Fla., on Wednesday, March 27 by splitting a pair of matches. Carthage blanked Hamline University (2-8), 9-0, before losing to Luther College (14-5) by an 8-1 margin.
Bari Reynolds (Jr., Sterling, Ill., 11-10) split at No. 1 singles, defeating Hamline's Carissa Wallerich, 6-2, 6-3, before losing to Luther's Elise Allen, Allen winning, 6-2, 6-0.
Haleigh McPeek (So., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 14-5) split at No. 2 singles, winning over Hamline's Cassie Rammage, 6-4, 6-1, but losing to Luther's Lola White-Baer, White-Baer winning, 6-0, 6-1.
Erin Henrickson (So., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale-South, 6-10) lost at No. 3 singles against Luther.
Abbi Howell (So., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest, 8-9) split at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.
Kelsey Bowen (Jr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township, 1-2) split at No. 4 and No. 5 singles.
Holly Weber (Jr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 9-4) split at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, and
Kirsten Peterson (Fr., Hastings, Minn., 7-8) was a winner over Hamline at No. 6 singles.
In doubles, Carthage's No.1 team of Reynolds and McPeek (14-3) won over both Hamline and Luther, while the No. 2 team of Hendrickson and Howell (12-8) split. Carthage plays host to Lake Forest College on Thursday, April 4 in a 4 p.m. match at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis.
