The Carthage College women's tennis team (4-5, 4-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) opened a spring trip to Orlando, Fla., on Monday, March 25 with a 5-4 loss to Kalamazoo College (5-3).  The Lady Reds take on Hamline University on Wednesday, March 27 at 9 a.m., EDT.
 
In the loss to Kalamazoo, Bari Reynolds (Jr., Sterling, Ill., 10-9) lost her No. 1 singles match to Sarah Woods, Woods winning, 6-2, 6-2.  Haleigh McPeek (So., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 13-4) defeated Jenna Riehl at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-4.  Erin Henrickson (So., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale-South, 6-9) lost at No. 3 singles, as did Abbi Howell (So., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest, 7-8) at No. 4 singles and Kelsey Bowen (Jr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township, 0-1) at No. 5 singles.  Holly Weber (Jr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 8-3) was a winner at No. 6 singles.
 
In doubles, Carthage's No.1 team of Reynolds and McPeek (12-3) was an 8-5 winner over Sarah Woods/Olivia Bouchard.  The No. 2 team of Hendrickson and Howell (11-7) was an 8-4 winner over the Hornets, but the No. 3 tandem of Kelsey Bowen and Daria Ekkert (Fr., Lemont, Ill./Mount Assisi Academy, 0-1) lost.
