Jeff Lotz Jr. (Sr., Racine, Wis./Horlick, 18-7) defeated Hamilton's Jon Franzel at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-3.
Alex Boomgarden (Fr., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area, 12-6) lost to the Continentals' James Oliver at No. 2 singles, Oliver 7-6(4), 6-0.
Ryan Jump (Fr., Mundelein, Ill., 12-4) was a winner at No. 3 singles.
Brian Howes (Sr., Bartlett, Ill., 12-7) lost at No. 4 singles, as did
Juan Robles (So., Bogota, Columbia, 3-9) at No. 5 singles and
Tom Klassman (Sr., Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove, 6-9) at No 6 singles.
Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of Lotz and Boomgarden (10-7) defeated Hamilton's team of Jon Franzel/James Oliver, 9-8(5). The No. 2 doubles team of
Conor Moon (So., Sussex, Wis./Woodstock (Ill.)-Marian Central Catholic) and
Brandon Curtis (Jr., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge, 4-7) lost, as did the Red Men's No. 3 tandem of Howes and Jump (6-6). Carthage plays Hamline University on Wednesday, March 27 at 9 a.m., EDT.
