The Carthage College men's tennis team (0-1, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) traveled to Elsah, Ill., on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 8-9 to play in the Principia College Tournament at the Hexberg Tennis Center.  No team scores were kept.
 
Carthage's Jeff Lotz Jr. (Sr., Racine, Wis./Horlick, 7-4) went 2-1 in singles competition, Alex Boomgarden (Fr., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area, 8-2) 3-0, Ryan Jump (Fr., Mundelein, Ill., 7-1) 3-0, Brian Howes (Sr., Bartlett, Ill., 8-3) 2-1, Tom Klassman (Sr., Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove, 2-5) 2-1, Juan Robles (So., Bogota, Columbia, 1-3) 1-2, Andrew Knutson (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn./Minnehaha Academy, 1-2) 1-2, Conor Moon (So., Sussex, Wis./Woodstock (Ill.)-Marian Central Catholic, 3-3) 2-1 and Brandon Curtis (Jr., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge, 1-2) 1-2.
 
Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of Lotz and Boomgarden (5-4) went 3-0, the No. 2 doubles team of Moon and Curtis (3-0) 3-0, the No. 3 team of Klassman and Robles (1-2) 1-2, and the No. 3 tandem of Howes and Jump (2-2) went 2-1.  The Red Men play host to Monmouth College on Saturday, Feb. 16 in a 1:30 p.m. indoor match at the Racine Racquet & Fitness Club.
