The Carthage College men's golf team (93-18) won the Monday, April 9 Elmhurst College "Bluejay Classic" at the Oak Brook Golf Club in Oak Brook, Ill. 

The Red Men won the 11-team event with a 316 team score, 12 strokes ahead of the Carthage "B" team at 328.  The Milwaukee School of Engineering was third at 333, followed by Elmhurst fourth at 337, Lakeland College fifth at 346, North Park University and Wisconsin Lutheran College tied for sixth place at 352 each, the Lakeland "B" team eighth at 360, Dominican University (Ill.) ninth at 371, Concordia University (Wis.) 10th at 373 and the North Park "B" team 11th with a 380 mark.
 
Carthage's Josh Kopka (So., Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) took medalist honors with a five-over-par 77.  Donnie Langland (Jr., Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) was fifth at 79, Brad Hyland (So., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) and Ben Schroeder (Jr., Mundelein, Ill.) tied for sixth at 80 each, and Riley Bauman (So., Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) tied for 18th place with an 85. 

For the Carthage "B" team, Patrick Clavio (Jr., Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) tied for second place with a 78.  Dan Parks (So., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) shot an 82, Tyler Prickette (So., Appleton, Wis./Xavier) an 83, Kenny Rudy (Sr., Rockton, Ill./Hononegah) an 85, and Anthony Burdi (So., Carol Stream, Ill./Bartlett) shot a 91. 

On Saturday-Sunday, April 14-15, the Red Men travel to Green Lake, Wis., to play in the Ripon College Invitational at the Lawsonia Golf Links Course (10 a.m. both days).
