The Carthage College women's track and field team (14-8) finished eighth at the Friday, April 6 Chicagoland Outdoor Track and Field Championship at the University of Chicago's Amos Alonzo Stagg Field in Chicago.
Northern Illinois University won the 18-team event with 174 points, followed by DePaul University second at 136, Illinois-Chicago third at 85, Northwestern University fourth at 76, Lewis University fifth at 74, the host-Maroons sixth at 60.50, Loyola University (Ill.) seventh at 41, Carthage eighth at 40, Olivet Nazarene University ninth at 36.50, North Central College 10th at 29, Chicago State University 11th at 16, Elmhurst College 12th at 14, St. Xavier University 13th at 11, Concordia University (Chicago) 14th with nine points, the College of DuPage 15th with seven, Benedictine University (Ill.) 16th with five and the Illinois Institute of Technology tied with Harper College for 17th place with one point each.
