The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (11-4, 5-1 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference) wrapped up its regular-season schedule on Sunday, April 29 with an 18-7 win over conference-opponent the College of Mount St. Joseph (4-9, 2-4 MWLC) at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
The Lady Reds led the Lions, 14-3, at halftime.
Hannah Sopeth (Sr., Lakeville, Minn./North) led Carthage with four goals.
Desirae Murphy (Jr., Savage, Minn./Burnsville) had three goals and a caused turnover, and
Sydney Whitaker (So., Bainbridge, Wash.) had three goals. Amanda Holmes paced Mount St. Joseph with three goals and four ground balls.
Carthage will be the No. 2 seed in the Friday-Saturday, May 4-5 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Tournament at Adrian College's Multisport Performance Stadium in Adrian, Mich. The top-four teams qualify for the tournament. Carthage will play No. 3 seed North Central College (7-9, 5-2 MWLC) in a semifinal game on Friday, May 4 at 5 p.m., (all times EDT), with top-seeded Adrian College (15-2, 7-0) taking fourth-seeded the College of Mount St. Joseph (5-9, 3-4) at 2 p.m. The Saturday, May 5 title game starts at 3 p.m.
