The Carthage College women's golf team (66-46-3) concluded its 2011-12 season by finishing fourth at the Friday, April 27 Robert Morris University-Lake County Spring Invitational at the Bonnie Brook Golf Course in Waukegan, Ill.
North Central College won the 10-team event with a 328 team score, eight strokes ahead of second-place the University of St. Francis (Ill.) at 338. Illinois Wesleyan University was third at 337, followed by Carthage fourth at 345, the Wisconsin-Whitewater “B” team fifth at 354, Olivet Nazarene University sixth at 355, Robert Morris-Lake County seventh at 365, Wheaton College (Ill.) eighth at 367, Holy Cross College ninth at 371 and St. Mary-of-the-Woods College 10th with a 375 mark.
North Central's Mallory Carr took medalist honors with a 76. Carthage's
Heidi Chronowski (Jr., Monticello, Iowa) tied for eighth place with an 84.
Taylor Dory (So., Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and
Julie Klawitter (Jr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) shot 86s,
Tabby Bell (Jr., Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) an 89,
Jenna Apple (Jr., Bloomington, Ill.) a 90, and
Erin Holst (Fr., Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) finished with a 93.
