The Carthage College men's golf team (118-18) won its own spring invitational on Tuesday, April 24 at the Kenosha Country Club in Somers, Wis. The Red Men won the seven-team event with a 303 team score, four strokes ahead of second-place Benedictine University (Ill.) at 307. Carroll University (Wis.) was third at 310, followed by Wheaton College (Ill.) fourth at 315, Elmhurst College fifth at 326, the Milwaukee School of Engineering sixth at 340 and North Park University seventh with a 363 mark.
Carroll's Eric Busalacchi took medalist honors with a two-over-par 72. Carthage's
Donnie Langland (Jr., Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) was second at 73.
Brad Hyland (So., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) tied for third place with a 74.
Casey Schneider (So., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) tied for ninth place with a 77,
Riley Bauman (So., Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) finished 17th at 79, and
Josh Kopka (So., Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) tied for 20th place with an 81.
On Friday-Saturday, April 27-28, Carthage plays in the first two rounds of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Men's Golf Championship at the Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Ill.
