The Carthage College women's golf team (73-40-1) finished third at the Friday, April 20 Wisconsin-Whitewater "Spring Fling" at the Riverside Golf Course in Janesville, Wis.
The host-Warhawks won the eight-team event with a 336 team score, 13 strokes ahead of second-place Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 349. Carthage was third at 356, followed by Carroll University (Wis.) fourth at 366, Wisconsin-Platteville fifth at 382, Wisconsin-Oshkosh sixth at 388, Benedictine University (Ill.) seventh at 423 and Finlandia University eighth with a 583 mark.
Wisconsin-Whitewater's Claudia Rhien took medalist honors with an 80. Carthage's
Erin Holst (Fr., Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) tied for ninth place with an 86.
Taylor McAdams (Jr., Sycamore, Ill.) tied for 13th place with an 87, and
Heidi Chronowski (Jr., Monticello, Iowa) finished 18th at 91.
Tabby Bell (Jr., Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) shot a 92 and
Jenna Apple (Jr., Bloomington, Ill.) a 94.
The Lady Reds conclude their season on Friday, April 27 by playing in the Robert Morris University-Lake County Spring Invitational at the Bonnie Brook Golf Course in Waukegan, Ill.
