The Carthage College women's track and field team (47-14-2 indoor record) had one qualifier for the Friday-Saturday, March 9-10 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship at Grinnell College's Charles Benson Bear Recreation and Athletic Center in Grinnell, Iowa. Sarah Thompson (Sr., Byron, Ill.) finished sixth in the in the pentathlon (3,323 points) and earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-America honors. With Thompson's sixth-place finish, Carthage tied for 44th place at the national championship.
