The Carthage College women's golf team (68-38-1) finished 15th at the Saturday-Sunday, March 31-April 1 Washington University (Ill.) Spring Invitational at the Gateway National Golf Course in Madison, Ill. William Woods University and the host-Bears tied for the lead at the 18-team event, William Woods with a 308-303-611 and Washington (Mo.) with a 304-307-611. William Woods won the event on a tie-breaker.
Drury University was third at 304-313-617, followed by Wittenberg University fourth at 315-307-622, Illinois Wesleyan University at 325-320-645 and St. Olaf College at 3334-311-645 tied for fifth place, North Central College seventh at 317-330-647, Birmingham-Southern College eighth at 329-319-648, Truman State University ninth at 324-326-650, Central College 10th at 334-322-656, Carroll University 11th at 331-326-657, Marian University (Ind.) 12th at 337-323-660, Illinois-Springfield 13th at 339-323-662, Wisconsin-Whitewater 14th at 341-328-669, Carthage 15th at 340-350-690, McKendree University 16th at 345-358-703, St. Ambrose University 17th at 351-361-712 and Millikin University 18th with a 374-366-740 mark.
Maryville University's Kayla Eckelkamp at 72-76-148 tied for first place with Washington's Hannah Buck at 75-3-148 and Drury's Morgan Lamberson at 75-63=148. Eckelkamp won a tie-breaker to claim medalist honors. Carthage's

Julie Klawitter (Jr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) finished with a 92-96-188.
Carthage travels to Davenport, Iowa, on Thursday, April 19 to play in the Augustana College (Ill.) Spring Invitational at the Emeis Park Golf Course, beginning at 10 a.m.
