The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (4-3, 1-0 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference) opened conference play on Saturday, March 24 with a 23-4 win over Fontbonne University (0-4, 0-2 MWLC) at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.  Carthage opened up a 14-2 lead and led, 14-3, at halftime.  The Lady Reds out-scored the Griffins, 9-1, in the second period. 

Natalie Ceis (Jr., Seattle, Wash./Seattle Prep) led Carthage with four goals, two assists and two ground balls.  Sydney Whitaker (So., Bainbridge, Wash.) had three goals and an assist, and Anna Schweiss (So., Parker, Colo./Chaparral) had three goals.  Mary Alice Pierce led Fontbonne with three goals.  The Lady Reds play host to the University of Puget Sound on Saturday, March 31 in a 7 p.m. game, also at Art Keller Field.
