The Carthage College women's tennis team (8-3, 5-1 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) returned to action on Sunday, March 18 with a 5-4 win over Hamilton College (2-4) in Orlando, Fla.
The Lady Reds play three other spring-trip matches, including Luther College on Monday, March 19 at 12:30 p.m. (all times EDT), Grinnell College on Wednesday, March 21 at 9 a.m., Colorado College on Friday, March 23 at 9 a.m. and Hope College on Friday, March 23 at 4 p.m.
In the win over Hamilton, Carthage's
Hollis McPeek (Sr., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 7-8) defeated Carrie Uhlein, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1 singles.
Bari Reynolds (So., Sterling, Ill., 14-4) defeated Alex Arenson, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.
Haleigh McPeek (Fr., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 1-0) was a winner at No. 3 singles.
Kristina Naidicz (Sr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 10-7) lost at No. 4 singles, as did
Erin Henrickson (Fr., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South, 5-11) at No. 5 singles and
Amanda Bizub (Sr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 8-6) at No. 6 singles.
Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of McPeek and McPeek (1-0) was an 8-0 winner over Arenson and Meg Lee. The Lady Reds' No. 2 team of Reynolds and Naidicz (0-1) fell to the Continentals, while the No. 3 tandem of Henrickson and Bizub (1-0) was a winner.
