The Carthage College women's tennis team (8-4, 5-1 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) lost to Luther College (12-7), 6-3, on Monday, March 19 in Orlando, Fla. The Lady Reds play three other spring-trip matches, including Grinnell College on Wednesday, March 21 at 9 a.m., Colorado College on Friday, March 23 at 9 a.m. and Hope College on Friday, March 23 at 4 p.m.
In the loss to Luther, Carthage's
Hollis McPeek (Sr., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 8-8) defeated Cami Czech, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles.
Bari Reynolds (So., Sterling, Ill., 15-4) defeated Elise Allen, 3-6, 6-4, 10-6, at No. 2 singles.
Haleigh McPeek (Fr., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 1-1) lost at No. 3 singles, as did
Kristina Naidicz (Sr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 10-8) at No. 4 singles, as did
Erin Henrickson (Fr., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South, 5-12) at No. 5 singles and
Amanda Bizub (Sr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 8-7) at No. 6 singles.
Carthage's No. 1 doubles team of McPeek and McPeek (2-0) was an 9-7 winner over Czech and Katherine Howe. The Lady Reds' No. 2 team of Reynolds and Naidicz (0-2) fell to the Norse, as did the No. 3 tandem of Henrickson and Bizub (1-1).
