Carthage College's Jake Mahaffey (Sr., Mahomet, Ill./Mahomet-Seymour) was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin “Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week” on Oct 9 for the second time this season.  Mahaffey, who also earned “athlete of the week” honors on Sept. 11, won the Oct. 5 Benedictine University (Ill.) “Eagle Invitational” at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Ill., with a time of 25:27.61 in the 8K race.
