Results

The Carthage College women's track and field team (16-5 indoor record) won the Friday, Jan. 27 Carthage “Tadd Metzger Invitational” at the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center in Kenosha, Wis. 

The Lady Reds won the nine-team event with 157.50 points, followed by Wisconsin-Stevens Point second at 145, Illinois-Chicago third at 102.75, Carroll University (Wis.) fourth at 74.75, the University of St. Francis (Ill.) fifth at 68, Wisconsin-Parkside sixth at 49, St. Xavier University seventh at 46, Concordia University (Wis.) eighth at 28 and Oakton Community College ninth with seven points.
 
Carthage's Molly Chlum (Sr., Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) won the 55-meter dash (7.52) and finished third in the 200-meter dash (27.68), while Patti Laufenberg (So., Waunakee, Wis.) won the 200-meter dash (27.14).  Kristin LeClair (So., Manitowoc, Wis./Lutheran) was second in the long jump (16-10 ¼) and third in the 400-meter dash (1:03.75).

Marissa Weiler (So., Morton Grove, Ill./Skokie-Niles North) was second in the 400-meter dash (1:01.55), as was Katie Kummerer (So., Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale-Central) in the one-mile run (5:17.51), Joslyn Drew (Sr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) in the triple jump (36-0) and Cindy Cavanagh (Sr., Naperville, Ill./Aurora-Waubonsie Valley) in the shot put (38-5 ¾).    Sarah Thompson (Sr., Byron, Ill.) finished third in the 55-meter high hurdles (8.92), the high jump (4-11) and the long jump (16-7 ¼).  Becca McMullen (Fr., Round Lake, Ill./Fox Lake-Grant community) finished third in the weight throw (44-3 ½). 

Carthage travels to Bloomington, Ill., on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 3-4 for the Illinois Wesleyan University “Bob Keck Invitational” at the Shirk Center (3 p.m./11 a.m.).
