The Carthage College women's track and field team (9-5 indoor record) finished fourth at the Friday, Jan. 20 North Central College “Cardinal Opener” at Merner Fieldhouse in Naperville, Ill.
The host-Cardinals won the five-team event with 210 points, followed by Emory University second at 124.50, Wisconsin-Oshkosh third at 121, Carthage fourth at 83.50 and Benedictine University (Ill.) fifth with 11 points.
Patti Laufenberg (So., Waunakee, Wis.) was second in the 400-meter dash (1:00.43), as was
Bridget Driscoll (Jr., Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) in the 800-meter run (2:32.69).
Marissa Weiler (So., Morton Grove, Ill./Skokie-Niles North) was third in the 200-meter dash, as was
Katie Kummerer (So., Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale-Central) in the 3,000-meter run (10:43.27).
The Lady Reds play host to the “Tadd Metzger Invitational” on Friday, Jan. 27 at the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center in Kenosha, Wis., beginning at 3:30 p.m.
