The Carthage College women's golf team (22-7) finished fifth at the Thursday, Sept. 8 Augustana (Ill.) “Fall Classic” at the Emeis Park Golf Course in Davenport, Iowa. 

Wheaton College (Ill.) won the 15-team event with a 335 team score, three strokes ahead of second-place North Central College at 338. Augustana (Ill.) was third at 345, followed by St. Ambrose University fourth at 349, Carthage fifth at 352, Ashford University sixth at 356, Elmhurst seventh at 370, Monmouth College eighth at 372, Robert Morris-Lake County ninth at 378, the Augustana “B” team 10th at 385, Judson University (Ill.) 11th at 393, the North Central “B” team 12th at 400, the University of Dubuque 13th at 405, Iowa Wesleyan College 14th at 409 and the St. Ambrose “B” team 15th with a 414 mark.

 

Sarah Moore from Wheaton (Ill.) took medalist honors with a 76. Carthage's Taylor McAdams (Jr., Sycamore, Ill.) tied for third place with an 83. Julie Klawitter (Jr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) tied for 14th at 87, Erin Holst (Fr., Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) tied for 25th at 90, Aubrie Morano (Sr., North Prairie, Wis./Wales-Kettle Moraine) tied for 32nf at 92, Tabby Bell (Jr., Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) tied for 39th at 93, and Heidi Chronowski (Jr., Monticello, Iowa) tied for 41st place at 94. 

Jenna Apple (Jr., Bloomington, Ill.), playing as an individual, shot an 89, and Brooke Mix (Sr., Westfield, Ind.), also playing as an individual, finished with a 96. Carthage concludes the week at the Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 10-11 Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational at the Oshkosh Country Club in Oshkosh, Wis., beginning at 9 a.m.
