The Carthage College women's golf team (15-3) tied for second place at the Tuesday, Sept. 6 North Central College “Cardinal Classic” at the Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville, Ill. Lewis University won the 13-team event with a 350 team score, 16 strokes ahead of both Carthage and North Central (Ill.) at 366 each. Lincoln Community College was fourth at 373, followed by the University of St. Francis (Ill.) fifth at 374, the Carthage “B” team tied for sixth with Calvin College at 375 each, Augustana College (Ill.) eighth at 390, Elmhurst College ninth at 395, St. Joseph's College (Ind.) 10th at 420, the North Central “B” team 11th at 424, Aurora University 12th at 436 and the Augustana “B” team 13th with a 444 mark.

 

Calvin's Carlia Canto took medalist honors with an 83.  Carthage's Heidi Chronowski (Jr., Monticello, Iowa) tied for third place with an 87. Tabby Bell (Jr., Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic), Erin Holst (Fr., Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) and Aubrie Morano (Sr., North Prairie, Wis./Wales-Kettle Moraine) tied for 16th at 93 each. Julie Klawitter (Jr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) tied for 24th place with a 94, and Jenna Apple (Jr., Bloomington, Ill.) tied for 54th at 108. 

For the Lady Reds “B” team, Michelle Braun (Sr., Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) tied for seventh place at 89. Taylor McAdams (Jr., Sycamore, Ill.) tied for 16th at 93, Joanna Young (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) tied for 26th at 95, Natalie Haines (So., Geneva, Ill./Aurora-Rosary) finished 36th at 98, Taylor Dory (So., Menomonee Falls, Wis.) tied for 42nd at 102, and Kiki Buege (Jr., Hudson, Wis.) tied for 54th place with a 108. The Lady Reds travel to Davenport, Iowa, on Thursday, Sept. 8 to play in the Augustana (Ill.) “Fall Classic” at the Emeis Park Golf Course, beginning at 9 a.m.
