Results

Despite shooting a blistering 328 on the second day, the Carthage College women's golf team (56-19-1) finished second at the Friday-Saturday, Sept. 23-24 Wisconsin-Whitewater “Fall Fling” at the Riverside Golf Course in Janesville, Wis. 

Carroll University won the 10-team event with a 325-332-657 team score and held off the second-place Lady Reds by one stroke. Carthage shot a 330-328-658. Wisconsin-Whitewater was third at 329-339-668, followed by Wisconsin-Stevens Point fourth at 338-338-676, Wisconsin-Platteville fifth at 337-353-690, Robert Morris-Lake County sixth at 378-347-725, Ripon College seventh at 365-363-728, Wisconsin-Oshkosh eighth at 380-360-740, St. Norbert College ninth at 376-372-748 and Finlandia University 10th with a 456-447-903 mark.
 
Carroll's Angelina Parrinello and Wisconsin-Whitewater's Nicole Westcott tied for first place at 157 each, with Westcott winning a scorecard playoff to claim medalist honors.  Carthage's Heidi Chronowski (Jr., Monticello, Iowa, 85.6 season average) finished fourth with an 83-77-160, and Taylor McAdams (Jr., Sycamore, Ill., team-leading 83.6) tied for fifth place at 83-81-164. Chronowski's second-day round of 77 tied her with four other players for the second-best round in Carthage history. 

Tabby Bell (Jr., Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic, 88.3) tied for eighth place with an 80-85-165, Erin Holst (Fr., Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley, 85.1) tied for 16th at 84-87-171, and Taylor Dory (So., Menomonee Falls, Wis.. 91.3) finished 29th with a 93-85-178. 

Five other Carthage players competed as individuals:  Julie Klawitter (Jr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey, 88.8) shot an 85-88-173, Jenna Apple (Jr., Bloomington, Ill., 89.8) an 87-92-179, Brooke Mix (Sr., Westfield, Ind., 92.3) a 91-93-184, Aubrie Morano (Sr., North Prairie, Wis./Wales-Kettle Moraine, 91.7) an 89-97-186 and Natalie Haines (So., Geneva, Ill./Aurora-Rosary, 94.3) a 95-96-191.   

Mix scored a hole-in-one on the 130-yard 15th hole in the first round.  It was the second collegiate hole-in-one for Mix, with the other coming on Sept. 4, 2009 on the 11th hole of the Foss Park Golf Course at the Robert Morris “Fall Classic.”

Carthage plays in the Friday, Sept. 30 University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fall Invitational at the Inwood Golf Course in Joliet, Ill. (start time TBA).
