The Carthage College men's tennis team (0-0, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) opened the fall portion of its 2011-12 season on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Fall Invitational Tournament at Illinois Wesleyan University's Beadles-Morse Tennis Courts in Bloomington, Ill. No team scores were kept in the five-slight event, three singles and two doubles. 
 
Carthage's Jeff Lotz Jr. (Jr., Racine, Wis.) and Daneric Hazelman (Sr., Lautoka, Fiji Islands) advanced to the No 1 singles title match, but that contest, which would have been played on Sunday, Sept. 18, was rained out. Alex McLean (Sr., Belleville, Ill./West) advanced to the No. 2 singles semifinal before bowing out to Colin Arnold from Augustana College (Ill.), 6-4, 6-2. Nick Boomgarden (Sr., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area) also reached the No. 2 singles semifinals but fell to Illinois Wesleyan University's Nick Kenaga, 6-3, 6-1. 

Brian Howes (Jr., Bartlett, Ill.) reached the No. 3 singles final, which was rained out. Max Mueller (Fr., Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) reached the consolation final at No. 3 singles, but his contest was rained out. In doubles, the Red Men's team of Lotz and Hazelman advanced out of the second round before the semifinals and finals were cancelled.
