The Carthage College women's golf team (42-18-1) tied for 10th place at the Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 17-18 Illinois Wesleyan University “Fall Classic” at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill.
Washington University (Mo.) won the 26-team event with a 300-317-617 team score, four strokes ahead of second-place DePauw University at 312-309-621. Williams Woods University was third at 319-312-631, followed by Illinois Wesleyan fourth at 334-317-651, Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 317-336-653 and Wisconsin-Whitewater at 327-326-653 tied for fifth place, Carroll University at 316-341-657 seventh, North Central College eighth at 339-326-665, Wittenberg University ninth at 336-3326-668, Carthage at 36-333-669 and Marian University (Ind.) at 334-335-669 tied for 10th, Truman State University 12th at 341-331-672, Olivet College 13th at 341-332-673, Grinnell College 14th at 336-341-677, Central College 15th at 340-341-681, Franklin College at 335-349-684, Rhodes College at 342-342-684 and Wisconsin-Platteville at 341-343-684 all tied for 16th place, Mount Mercy College 19th at 346-343-689, the Illinois Wesleyan “B” team 20th at 342-348-690, the University of St. Francis (Ill.) 21st at 344-349-693, Millikin University 22nd at 354-353-707, Adrian College 23rd at 365-346-711, St. Ambrose University 24th at 368-367-735, the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 25th at 383-373-756 and Illinois College 26th with a 441-424-865 mark.
Hannah Buck from Washington (Mo.) took medalist honors with a four-over-par 69-79-148. Carthage's
Taylor McAdams (Jr., Sycamore, Ill.) tied for 17th place at 78-82-160, and
Erin Holst (Fr., Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) tied for 46th place at 82-83-165.
Heidi Chronowski (Jr., Monticello, Iowa) shot a 90-82-172,
Jenna Apple (Jr., Bloomington, Ill.) an 86-90-176, and
Tabby Bell (Jr., Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) finished with a 90-86-176.
Carthage travels to Oak Brook, Ill., on Tuesday, Sept. 20 to play in the Elmhurst College “Bluejay Invitational” at the Oak Brook Country Club, beginning at 11 a.m.
