Results

The Carthage College men's golf team (18-1) won the Tuesday, Sept. 13 University of St. Francis (Ill.) "Fall Classic" at the Wedgewood Golf Course in Joliet , Ill. Carthage won the 19-team event with a 289 team score, two strokes ahead of second-place St. Francis (Ill.) at 291. 

Calumet College of St. Jospeh was third at 303, followed by North Central College fourth at 304, the College of DuPage fifth at 306, Elmhurst College sixth at 308, Trinity Christian College seventh at 310, Olivet Nazarene University and Robert Morris University (Ill.) tied for eighth place at 312 each, Rock Valley College 10th at 313, Illinois Valley Community College 11th at 314, Judson University (Ill.) and the Elmhurst “B” team tied for 12th place at 321 each, Benedictine University (Ill.) and the North Central (Ill.) “B” team tied for 14th place at 327 each, Moraine Valley Community College 16th at 330, Purdue-Calumet 17th at 337, Purdue-North Central 18th at 344 and the Benedictine (Ill.) “B” team 19th with a 351 mark. 
 
Steve Wojcik from St. Francis (Ill.) and Carthage's Brad Hyland (So., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) tied for first place at 69 each, three under par, with Wojcik winning a scorecard-playoff to take medalist honors. The Red Men's Donnie Langland (Jr., Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) was fifth with an even-par 72. Tyler Prickette (So., Appleton, Wis./Xavier) and Ben Schroeder (So., Mundelein, Ill.) tied for 14th place at 74 each, with Scott Shiple (Sr., Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) in a tie for 28th place with a 77. 

On Sunday, Sept. 18, the Red Men play in the Benedictine University (Ill.) Fall Invitational at the St. Andrew Golf Club in West Chicago, Ill., starting at 11 a.m.
