Men's Cross Country Opens 2011 Season at UW-Stevens Point on Sept. 10

The Carthage College men's cross country team (0-0) opened its 2011 season at the Saturday, Sept. 10 Wisconsin-Stevens Point “Four-Mile Dual” at Iverson Park in Stevens Point, Wis. No team scores were kept.

Carthage's Jake Mahaffey (Jr., Mahomet, Ill. /Mahomet-Seymour) finished seventh with a time of 20:25.00. Grant Seiler (Jr., Greenfield, Wis./Whitnall) was 14th at 21:01.00, Alex Nelson (Jr., Red Wing, Minn.) 16th at 21:11.00, Dan August (So., Mokena, Ill./Frankfort—Lincoln-Way East) 17th at 21:13.00, and J.D. Fuller (Fr., Woodstock, Ill.) finished 22nd at 21:27.00.

Also running for the Red Men were Will Novorolsky (So., Elburn, Ill./St. Charles-North) 25th at 21:38.00, Derek Hall (Sr., Ingleside, Ill./Fox Lake-Grant Community) 27th at 21:43.00, Russell Wetzel (Sr., Champaign, Ill./Central) 30th at 22:00.00, Jose Flores (Sr., Round Lake, Ill./Fox Lake-Grant Community) 37th at 22:47.00, Josh Keck (Jr., Minooka, Ill.) 39th at 23:01, Paul Smith (Jr., Algonquin, Ill./Carpentersville—Dundee Crown) 40th at 23:10.00, Dustin Parker (Jr., Waterford, Wis./Union) 44th at 23:40.00 and Matt Krause (So., Northfield, Ill./Winnetka-New Trier) 45th at 23:51.00.

Carthage travels to Mequon, Wis., on Saturday, Sept. 17 to run in the Concordia University (Wis.) “Falcon Invitational,” beginning at Noon.
