The Carthage College women's track and field team (36-6-1 outdoor record), ranked 11th in the final, regular-season U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches of America NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field poll, had eight individual qualifiers and one relay team entered in the Thursday-Saturday, May 26-28 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Ohio Wesleyan University's Selby Field and George Gauthier Track in Delaware, Ohio.

Mindy Harrington (Sr., Spring Grove, Ill./Richmond-Burton) qualified in three events. She finished seventh in the hammer throw (173-0) and earned NCAA Division III All-America honors in the event. Harrington was 13th in the discus (134-3), and she was disqualified in the hammer throw with four fouls. Christine Nelson (Jr., Rock City, Ill./Dakota) finished 13th in the heptathlon (4,450 points) and Sarah Thompson (Jr., Byron, Ill.) 19th in the heptathlon (4,254 points).

Ashura Jenkins (Sr., Aurora, Ill./Christian) qualified in both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash but did not reach the finals in either event. Molly Chlum (Jr., Tinley Park, Ill./Orland Hills-Andrew) qualified in the 100-meter dash but did not reach the finals. The Lady Reds also qualified their 400-meter relay team of Jenkins, Chlum, Kelly McHale (Sr., Naperville, Ill./North) and Carnesha Johnson (Fr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township), but that quartet did not reach the finals.  Carthage tied for 65th place at the championship.
