The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (5-6, 4-1 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference) lost to non-conference opponent Kenyon College (6-4), 13-9, on Saturday, April 9 at Mavec Field in Gambier, Ohio.
 
Kenyon led, 6-5, at halftime. The Lady Reds pulled to within one, 8-7, before the Ladies ran off four unanswered goals to take a 12-7 lead. Kenyon out-shot Carthage, 34-23, and the Ladies had a 37-19 advantage in ground balls. Emily Nichols topped Kenyon with six goals. Hannah Sopeth (Jr., Lakeville, Minn./North), Desirae Murphy (So., Savage, Minn./Burnsville), Sydney Whitaker (Fr., Bainbridge, Wash.) and Natalie Ceis (So., Seattle, Wash./Seattle Prep) scored two goals each for the Lady Reds, with Sopeth adding an assist.

On Sunday, April 10, Carthage journeys on to Wooster, Ohio, to play the College of Wooster (6-3) in a 2 p.m., EDT match at John P. Papp Stadium.
