The Carthage College women's track and field team (30-5-1 outdoor record) sent four sprinters to the Drake Relays on Friday, April 29 in Des Moines, Iowa. The Lady Reds' 400-meter relay team of Ashura Jenkins (Sr., Aurora, Ill/Christian), Molly Chlum (Jr., Tinley Park, Ill./Orland Hills-Andrew), Kelly McHale (Sr., Naperville, Ill./North) and Carnesha Johnson (Fr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township) reached the finals, seeded seventh in the college division and improved its NCAA-provisional standing with a time of 48.17.

The same four runners also competed in the 800-meter relay but did not reach the finals. The remainder of the Carthage team travels to Milwaukee on Saturday, April 30 for the Wisconsin Private College Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Wisconsin Lutheran College's Raabe Stadium, beginning at 11 a.m.
