Carthage Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at CCIW Championship

Red Men's Tyler Prickette Ties for 12th Place

Final Results

The Carthage College men's golf team (116-21) finished fourth at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Men's Golf Championship. The first two rounds of the four-round event were played on Friday-Saturday, April 15-16 at the Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville, Ill., with the final two rounds being played on Friday-Saturday, April 29-30 at Harborside International Golf in Chicago.

Millikin University won its 19th league title but its first since 2000 with a 324-314-293-324-1259, just three strokes ahead of second-place Illinois Wesleyan University at 338-322-287-315-1262. Wheaton College (Ill.) was third at 324-324-308-326-1282, followed by Carthage fourth at 327-324-307-329-1287, Elmhurst College fifth at 353-324-310-346-1333, North Park University sixth at 338-333-314-354-1339, North Central College seventh at 335-339-325-342-1341 and Augustana College (Ill.) eighth at 349-347-332-339-1367.

Illinois Wesleyan's Ryan Dorner broke a four-way tie for first after the third day to take medalist honors at 80-81-71-78-310. Wheaton's Steven Moore was second at 81-77-74-79-311. The Red Men's Tyler Prickette (Fr., Appleton, Wis./Xavier, 77.8 season average) tied for 12th place at 86-77-78-83-324. Anthony Burdi (Fr., Carol Stream, Ill./Bartlett, 77.1) tied for 19th at 77-83-80-92-332. Riley Bauman (Fr., Crystal Lake, Ill./Central, 78.5) tied for 21st at 87-83-77-86-333, and Brad Hyland (Fr., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge, 77.8) also tied for 21st with a 93-81-77-82-333.

Donnie Langland (So., Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) who originally led the field after two days with a 77-78-155, was disqualified from the second day for a scorecard discrepancy. The error cost the Red Men five strokes going into the third round. Langland, with a team-leading 74.0 season average, shot a 75-78-153 over the final two days.
