The Carthage College men's golf team (110-17) finished fourth at the Thursday, April 21 Carthage Spring Invitational at the Kenosha Country Club in Somers, Wis.
Wheaton College (Ill.) won the 10-team event with a 299 team score, seven strokes ahead of second-place Carroll University (Wis.) at 306. Elmhurst College was third at 307, followed by Carthage fourth at 310, the Carthage “B” team fifth at 313, the Elmhurst “B” team sixth at 317, the Wheaton “B” team seventh at 319, North Park University eighth at 325, the Milwaukee School of Engineering “B” team ninth at 330 and the Carthage “C” team 10th with a 352 mark.
Tommy Cardle from the Wheaton “B” team took medalist honors with a 72. Carthage's
Andy Wojciechowicz (Sr., Racine, Wis./Kenosha-Bradford) tied for 12th place with a 76.
Donnie Langland (So., Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) and
Anthony Burdi (Fr., Carol Stream, Ill./Bartlett) tied for 14th at 77 each.
Tyler Prickette (Fr., Appleton, Wis./Xavier) finished 28th at 80, and
Riley Bauman (Fr., Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) tied for 29th place with an 81.
For the Red Men's “B” team,
Kenny Rudy (Jr., Rockton, Ill./Hononegah) tied for fourth place at 74.
Bobby O'Neill (Sr., Mokena, Ill./Frankfort—Lincoln-Way East) shot a 78,
Scott Shiple (Jr., Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) a 79,
Casey Schneider (Fr., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) an 82, and
Patrick Clavio (So., Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) shot an 85.
Nate Moore (So., Moline, Ill.) paced the Carthage “C” team with a 79 mark.
On Friday-Saturday, April 29-30, Carthage concludes play in the CCIW Men's Golf Championship at Harborside International Golf in Chicago.
