The Carthage College women's lacrosse team (4-5, 3-1 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference) won its third-straight game on Saturday, April 2 with an 11-9 victory over conference-opponent Fontbonne University (3-6, 1-1 MWLC) at Centene Stadium in St. Louis, Mo. Carthage led, 5-4, at halftime and led by as much as 10-6 in the second period.

The Lady Red had a narrow, 22-20 edge in shots and a 33-29 margin in ground balls. Sydney Whitaker (Fr., Bainbridge, Wash.) and Olivia Nino (So., Pleasanton, Calif./Foothill) each scored three times for Carthage. Hannah Sopeth (Jr., Lakeville, Minn./North) had two goals and two assists, and Anna Schweiss (Fr., Parker, Colo./Chaparral) scored two goals. The Lady Reds travel to Naperville, Ill., on Wednesday, April 6 to take on conference-opponent North Central College (3-3, 1-1) in a 7 p.m. contest at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
