Carthage Spring Invitational Postponed from Tuesday until Thursday

The Carthage Men's Golf Spring Invitational on Tuesday, April 19 at the Kenosha Country Club in Somers, Wis., was postponed, due to a poor weather forecast, until Thursday, April 21, still at 9:30 a.m.

The Carthage College men's golf team (109-14) won the Sunday, April 17 Carroll University (Wis.) Spring Invitational at the Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex, Wis.

The Red Men won the eight-team with a 308 team score, seven strokes ahead of second-place Carroll (Wis.) at 315. The Carthage “B” team was third at 325, followed by Ripon College, St. Norbert College and the Carroll “B” team tied for fourth place at 341 each, Lawrence University seventh at 354 and Beloit College eighth with a 357 mark.

Carroll's Sam Luedtke took medalist honors with a 73. Carthage's Donnie Langland (So., Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) and Brad Hyland (Fr., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) tied for second place with 75s. Anthony Burdi (Fr., Carol Stream, Ill./Bartlett) was sixth at 77, with Tyler Prickette (Fr., Appleton, Wis./Xavier) and Bobby O'Neill (Sr., Mokena, Ill./Frankfort—Lincoln-Way East) tied for 10th place at 81 each.

Carthage plays host to its own invitational tournament on Thursday, April 21 at the Kenosha Country Club in Somers, Wis. Carroll University (Wis.), Elmhurst College, Madison College, the Milwaukee School of Engineering, North Central College, North Park University and Wheaton College (Ill.) round the eight-team field for the event.
