Carthage College's Amanda Croix (Sr., Bradley, Ill./ Bradley-Bourbonnais) and Kyle Drake (Sr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) were named the 2011 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's “Swimmers of the Year” on April 14.

Croix, who also earned the award in 2010, claimed her fourth-straight conference title in both the 50 freestyle (23.08) and the 200 freestyle (meet-record 1:49.73), as well as her second-straight title in the 100 freestyle (50.04) at the CCIW Swimming Championship. She also finished second in the 50 freestyle (23.00), second in the 100 freestyle (49.62) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:49.25) at the NCAA Division III Swimming Championship.

Drake won the 200 backstroke (1:50.35) and was part of the winning 800 freestyle relay team at this year's CCIW championship. He also finished second in both the 400 individual medley (4:07.86) and the 500 freestyle (4:44.34) at the conference meet. Drake went on to place 14th in the 200 backstroke (1:50.07) at the NCAA championship.
