The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (7-1, 0-0 Midwest Men's Lacrosse Conference) had its school-record seven-game winning streak snapped on Saturday, March 19 with a 17-13 loss to NCAA Division I Mercer University (1-9) at Bear Field in Macon, Ga.

The game ended Carthage's three-game spring trip to Georgia. The Red Men trailed at halftime, 8-5, and were behind, 12-10, after the third period. Mercer out-shot Carthage, 51-39. Four Bear players scored three goals each: John Avent, Cole Branch, Eoin Collins and Brett Eisenmann, the latter adding three assists. Cory Childs (Sr., Savage, Minn./Prior Lake) and Danny Morse (Fr., O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) led the Red Men with four goals and one assist each, with Kyle Honn (Jr., Woodridge, Ill./Lisle-Benet Academy) totaling eight ground balls.

Carthage travels to Milwaukee on Saturday, March 26 to play the Milwaukee School of Engineering in a 3:30 p.m. game at Hart Park.
