The Carthage College men's lacrosse team wrapped up its fourth year of participation in the team's Christmas store in early-December 2011. The gifts raised by the team go to an outreach organization that helps support single parents with their holiday shopping.
"We ask each member of the team to set aside their loose change during fall semester for the drive,” says head coach
David Neff. “Our goals are that the guys think about the idea of helping someone out over a period of time, and that each little bit is going to go a long way if we all work together." This year's drive raised more than $1,100.
The Red Men did their shopping at Heim's Downtown Toy Store at 5819 6th Avenue in Kenosha, Wis. "I was excited this year,” concluded Neff, “that we picked a local merchant. The store is a great little place in the heart of town, and they were excited to have us there. My hope is that we keep everything we did this year a tradition and find ways to expand our reach and effort."
