The Carthage College men's golf team (58-1) won the Sunday-Monday, Oct. 2-3 Milwaukee School of Engineering Fall Invitational at the Grand Geneva Golf Course in Lake Geneva, Wis.
Carthage won the 10-team event with a 292-309-601 team score, one stroke ahead of second-place Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 309-294-602. Edgewood College was third at 303-303-606, followed by Luther College fourth at 302-309-611, Carroll University fifth at 315-300-615, MSOE sixth at 311-322-633, the MSOE “B” team seventh at 329-335-664, Concordia University (Wis.) eighth at 327-339-666, Marian University (Wis.) ninth at 349-334-683 and Dominican University (Ill.) 10th with a 343-343-686 mark. With the victory, The Red Men won their fifth-straight tournament.
Edgewood's Brent Quade took medalist honors with 67-70-137, six-under par. Carthage's
Donnie Langland (Jr., Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) tied for second place with a three-over-par 72-74-146, and
Ben Schroeder (So., Mundelein, Ill.) was fourth at 71-76-147.
Tyler Prickette (So., Appleton, Wis./Xavier) was ninth at 74-78-152, and
Riley Bauman (So., Crystal Lake, Ill./Central tied for 13th place at 73-81-154. Dominic Madrigano (Jr., Spring Grove, Ill./Grayslake-Central) shot a 78-78-156,
Brad Hyland (So., Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) a 76-81-157, and
Josh Kopka (So., Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) finished with an 82-78-160.
Carthage concludes the fall portion of its season at the Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 9-11 Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational at Raven Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Fla.
