The Carthage College men's cross country team (38-50) finished 34th at the Saturday, Oct. 15 Wisconsin-Oshkosh “Brooks Invitational” at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis.  North Central College won the 47-team event with 49 points, followed by Washington University (Mo.) second at 137, Wheaton College (Ill.) third at 154, Wisconsin-Platteville fourth at 251 and Augustana College (Ill.) fifth with 278 points.
 
Wisconsin-Stout's Tim Nelson won the 8K race with a time of 24:45.85.  Carthage's Jake Mahaffey (Jr., Mahomet, Ill. /Mahomet-Seymour) finished 118th with a time of 26:38.85, and J.D. Fuller (Fr., Woodstock, Ill) was 241st at 27:35.98  Grant Seiler (Jr., Greenfield, Wis./Whitnall) finished at 27:43.02, Will Novorolsky (So., Elburn, Ill./St. Charles-North) at 27:44.16, Alex Nelson (Jr., Red Wing, Minn.) at 27:54.91, Josh Keck (Jr., Minooka, Ill.) at 28:09.02, Derek Hall (Sr., Ingleside, Ill./Fox Lake-Grant Community) at 28:13.65, Jose Flores (Sr., Round Lake, Ill./Fox Lake-Grant Community) at 28:17.91, Dan August (So., Mokena, Ill./Frankfort—Lincoln-Way East) at 28:28.07, Russell Wetzel (Sr., Champaign, Ill./Central) at 28:32.86,
 
Carthage is idle on Saturday, Oct. 22 and returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Cross Country Championship at the Montrose Harbor and Golf Course in Chicago, beginning at 12:45 p.m.
