The Carthage College women's golf team (59-22-1) finished fourth at the Friday. Sept. 30 University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fall Invitational at the Inwood Golf Course in Joliet, Ill. North Central College won the seven-team event with a 333 team score, two strokes ahead of second-place St. Francis (Ill.) at 335. Olivet Nazarene University was third at 342, followed by Carthage fourth at 348, Robert Morris University-Lake County fifth at 364, Holy Cross College (Ind.) sixth at 367 and Wheaton College (Ill.) seventh with a 394 mark.
North Central's Mallory Carr took medalist honors with an eight-over par 79. Carthage's
Erin Holst (Fr., Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) tied for third place with an 82.
Heidi Chronowski (Jr., Monticello, Iowa) and
Julie Klawitter (Jr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) tied for 16th place with 88s.
Tabby Bell (Jr., Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) tied for 21st at 90, with
Taylor McAdams (Jr., Sycamore, Ill.) and
Taylor Dory (So., Menomonee Falls, Wis.. 91.3) in a tie for 27th place at 93 each.
Jenna Apple (Jr., Bloomington, Ill.), playing as an individual, shot an 89, and
Carlie Wysocke (So., Hoffman Estates, Ill./Elgin-St. Edward Central Catholic), also playing as an individual, finished with a 108.
Carthage travels to Davenport, Iowa, on Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 6-8 to play in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Golf Championship at the Emeis Park Municipal Golf Course (9 a.m. each day).
