Lady Reds Travel to Augustana "Fall Classic" on Thursday

The Carthage College women's golf team (13-7) finished second at the Tuesday, Sept. 7 North Central College “Cardinal Classic” at the Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville, Ill. The host-Cardinals won the 10-team event with a 361 team score, 11 strokes ahead of second-place Carthage at 372. Lewis University was third at 374, followed by the University of St. Francis (Ill.) fourth at 375, Augustana College (Ill.) fifth at 379, Elmhurst College sixth at 405, the Carthage “B” team seventh at 409, the Augustana (Ill.) “B” team eighth at 428, Aurora University ninth at 460 and Benedictine University (Ill.) 10th with a 472 mark.

North Central's Alyssa Gaudio won a scorecard playoff for medalist honors with an 88 over teammate Alyana Dufour. Carthage's Amy Binstein (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) tied for third place with a 90, and Heidi Hoffman (Sr., Appleton, Wis./North) tied for eighth place with a 92. Aubrie Morano (Jr., North Prairie, Wis./Wales-Kettle Moraine) and Katie Ramirez (Sr., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale-South) each tied for 13th with 95s. Tabby Bell (So., Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) tied for 21st with a 97, and Jenna Apple (So., Barrington, Ill.) shot a 100.

For the Lady Reds “B” team, Julie Klawitter (So., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) shot a 99, Natalie Haines (Fr., Geneva, Ill./Aurora-Rosary) a 101, Brooke Mix (Jr., Westfield, Ind.) a 104, Heidi Chronowski (So., Monticello, Iowa) a and 105, Kiki Buege (So., Hudson, Wis.) a 105. On Thursday, Sept. 9, the Lady Reds travel to Davenport, Iowa, to play in the Augustana College (Ill.) “Fall Classic” at the Emeis Park Golf Course.
