The Carthage College women's cross country team (23-17) finished 15th at the Saturday, Sept. 25 University of Minnesota “Roy Griak Invitational” at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh won the 32-team NCAA Division III event with 65 points, followed by Wisconsin-Eau Claire second at 89, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College third at 115, Wartburg College fourth at 152, Wisconsin-La Crosse fifth at 171, North Central College sixth at 187, Wisconsin-Platteville seventh at 238, Carleton College eighth at 252, Lakehead University ninth at 269, the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) 10th at 270, Bethel University 11th at 289, Gustavus Adolphus College 12th at 315, Loras College 13th at 363, the College of St. Scholastica 14th at 383 and Carthage 15th with 442 points.
Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Alyssa Sybilrud won the 6K race with a time of 22:04.50. Carthage's Katie Kummerer (Fr., Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale-Central) was 60th at 24:23.50, Karin Wirth (So., Springfield, Ill./Pleasant Plains) 61st at 24:23.60, Morgan Wiechmann (So., Sleepy Hollow, Ill./Carpentersville—Dundee-Crown) 92nd at 25:08.40, Molly Lawrence (Sr., Plainfield, Ill./Central) 107th at 25:24.50 and Lauren Sible (Jr., Oregon, Ill./Byron) 122nd at 25:47.40.
