The Carthage College women's tennis team (10-7, 5-1 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) swept King's College (Pa., 9-4), 9-0, on Tuesday, March 9 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Carthage's Gina Klein (Sr., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South, 12-10) won her number-one singles match over Monarchs' Jillian Tallarico, 6-0, 6-1, and Hollis McPeek (So., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 16-6) won her number-two singles contest over Courtnay Wilson, 6-0, 6-0. Kristina Naidicz (So., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper/UW-Oshkosh, 12-8) was a winner at number-three singles, as was Ashley Morgan (Sr., Afton, Minn./Stillwater Area, 13-6) at number-four singles, Amanda Bizub (So., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 8-4) at number-five singles and Alex Maniscalo (Jr., Lemont, Ill., 1-6) at number-six singles.
Carthage's number-one doubles team of Klein and McPeek (16-6) was a winner, as was the Lady Reds' number-two team of Naidicz and Morgan (3-3) and the number-three tandem of Bizub and Kaitlyn Farrell (Jr., Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township, 1-4).
Carthage was scheduled to conclude its spring trip on Thursday, March 11 versus Northern State University, but that contest was rained out. The Lady Reds play host to Concordia University (Wis.) on Saturday, April 10 in an 11 a.m. match at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis.
