The Carthage College men's tennis team (4-3, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) lost to the College of New Jersey (2-1), 8-1, on Monday, March 8 at Shadow Bay Park in Orlando, Fla. 

Sammy Ramoni (Sr., Honiara, Solomon Islands, 11-2) lost his number-one singles match to Lions' Steven Fernandez, Fernandez winning, 6-1, 7-5. Jack Schiro (Sr., Shorewood, Wis., 2-1) won his number-two singles over Stewart Fernandez, 6-0, 6-1. Jeffery Lotz Jr. (Fr., Racine, Wis./Horlick, 6-4) lost at number-three singles, as did J.T. Delk (Sr., Wheaton, Ill./North, 2-5) at number-four singles, Matt Whiteside (So., Sacramento, Calif., Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep, 4-4) at number-five singles and Chris Vargo (Fr., Elmhurst, Ill./York, 4-4) number-six singles. 

Carthage's number-one doubles team of Ramoni and Schiro (3-3) lost, as did the number-two team of Lotz and Delk (4-2) and the number-three tandem Whiteside and Alex McLean (So., Belleville, Ill./West, 1-2). Carthage plays King's College (Pa.) on Tuesday, March 9 at 11:30 a.m., EST.
