The Carthage College women's cross country team (63-68) finished 18th at the Saturday, Nov. 13 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championship at the Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill.  Wisconsin-Eau Claire won the 38-team event with 85 points, just eight points ahead of second-place Washington University (Mo.) at 93. Wisconsin-Stevens Point was third at 98, followed by Wisconsin-Oshkosh fourth at 122 and the University of Chicago fifth with 133 points. 

Chicago's Elizabeth Lawton won the 6K race with a time of 20:57.20. Carthage's Karin Wirth (So., Springfield, Ill./Pleasant Plains) finished 74th at 23:23.50. Katie Kummerer (Fr., Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale-Central) was 98th at 23:46.70, Molly Lawrence (Sr., Plainfield, Ill./Central) 115th at 24:02.80, Lauren Sible (Jr., Oregon, Ill./Byron) 138th at 24:42.00, and Kaylyn Haberland (Sr., Appleton, Wis./West) was 151st at 25:07.70.
