The Carthage College women's cross country team (43-46) finished 25th at the Saturday, Oct. 16 Wisconsin-Oshkosh “Brooks Invitational” at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. Minnesota-Duluth won the 36-team event with 89 points, 27 points ahead of the University of Chicago and Wisconsin-Oshkosh tied for second place at 116 each. Calvin College was fourth at 117, followed by Hope College fifth at 142, Washington University (Mo.) sixth at 165, Olivet Nazarene University seventh at 183, Emory University eighth at 231, Wisconsin-Stevens Point ninth at 240 and North Central College 10th with 266 points.
New York University was 11th at 280, Bethel University 12th at 320, Illinois Wesleyan University 13th at 432, DePauw University 14th at 462, Wisconsin-Whitewater 15th at 491, Wheaton College (Ill.) 16th at 525, Wisconsin-Stout 17th at 546, Carroll University 18th at 548, Grinnell College 19th at 554, Central College 20th at 563, the College of St. Scholastica 21st at 571, Elmhurst College 22nd at 633, the Illinois Institute of Technology 23rd at 643, Adrian College 24th at 700, Carthage 25th at 748, Lake Forest College 26th at 803, Coe College 27th at 821, Judson University 28th at 834, the University of Dubuque 29th at 874, Aurora University 30th at 918, Lawrence University 31st at 946, Wisconsin-Superior 32nd at 990, Moraine Valley Community College 33rd at 1007, Dominican University (Ill.) 34th at 1021, Northwestern College 35th at 1047 and Benedictine University (Ill.) 36th with 1060 points.
Minnesota-Duluth's Morgan Place won the 6K race with a time of 21:00.79. Carthage's Katie Kummerer (Fr., Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale-Central) finished 110th at 23:55.88, while Molly Lawrence (Sr., Plainfield, Ill./Central) was 135th at 24:16.56. Katie DeLisle (Fr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) finished at 24:48.31, Lauren Sible (Jr., Oregon, Ill./Byron) at 24:58.03 and Morgan Wiechmann (Jr., Sleepy Hollow, Ill./Carpentersville—Dundee-Crown) at 24:58.39.
