The Carthage College men's cross country team (36-45) finished 22nd at the Saturday, Oct. 16 Wisconsin-Oshkosh “Brooks Invitational” at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. North Central College won the 37-team event with 49 points, 29 points ahead of second-place Calvin College at 78. New York University was third at 138, followed by Washington University (Mo.) fourth at 146, Wisconsin-Stevens Point fifth at 150, Wisconsin-Oshkosh sixth at 173, Augustana College (Ill.) seventh at 199, Wheaton College (Ill.) eighth at 214, the University of Chicago ninth at 233 and Coe College 10th with 389 points.

North Central's Michal Spain won the 8K race with a time of 24:22.45. Carthage's Jake Mahaffey (So., Mahomet, Ill./Mahomet-Seymour) finished 66th with a time of 25:44.44, and Justin Sebens (Sr., Seymour, Ill./Mahomet-Seymour) was 108th at 26:18.76. Grant Seiler So., Greenfield, Ill./Milwaukee-Whitnall) finished at 26:48.68, Russell Wetzel (Jr., Champaign, Ill./Central) 27:02.62 and Josh Solorio Sr., West Allis, Wis./Milwaukee-West Allis Central) at 27:09.55.
