The Carthage College men's cross country team (18-24) finished fourth at Friday, Oct. 1 Carthage Invitational at the Wisconsin-Parkside course in Somers, Wis. North Central College won the five-team event with 21 points, followed by Marquette University second at 48, Wisconsin-Oshkosh third at 72, Carthage fourth at 118 and Harper College fifth with 121 points. Individual results from the race are not yet available.
North Central's Jon Kaufmann won the 8K race with a time of 26:53.50. Carthage's Derek Hall (Jr., Ingleside, Ill./Fox Lake-Grant Community) was 26th at 29:09.00, Andrew May (Jr., Racine, Wis./St. Catherines) 27th at 29:09.30, B.J. Fuller (Jr., Lake Villa-Lakes Community) 32nd at 29:37.00, Jose Flores (Jr., Round Lake, Ill./Fox Lake-Grant Community) 36th at 30:23.70 and Josh Keck (So., Minooka, Ill.) 37th at 30:26.40.
Also finishing for the Red Men were Klayton Reed (Jr., Bluffton, Ind./Ossian Norwell) at 30:44.50, Eddie Schwab (So., Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North) at 30:56.30, Marshall Stewart (Jr., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) at 31:22.70, Dustin Parker (So., Waterford, Wis./Union) at 31:50.90, Nick Colona (Sr., East Alton, Ill./East Alton-Wood River) at 32:46.10, Austin Twomey (Sr., Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth-Roseville) at 32:46.40 and Phil Rood (Jr., Forreston, Ill.) at 32:19.30.
The Red Men travel to Appleton, Wis., on Saturday, Oct. 9 for the Lawrence University “Gene Davis Invitational” at the Reid Municipal Golf Course, beginning at 11 a.m.
