The Carthage College women's swimming team (4-3 dual-meet record) lost to Lewis University, 114-90, on Saturday, Jan. 16 at Northwestern University's Norris Aquatics Center in Evanston, Ill. 

Carthage's Michelle Pelka (Jr., Elgin, Ill./Elgin Academy) won both the 200 individual medley (2:15.22) and the 200 butterfly (2:10.68). Amanda Croix (Jr., Bradley, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais) won both the 100 freestyle (52.88) and the 500 freestyle (5:16.52). Michelle Mulhall (Sr., Orland Park, Ill/.Sandburg) took second place in the 200 breaststroke (2:39.00), as did Maggie Knowles (Fr., Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) in the 200 breaststroke (2:40.04). Courtney Boothe (Jr., Moline, Ill.) finished third in the 1,000 freestyle (11:36.62), as did Alyssa Messina (Sr., Medinah, Ill./Roselle-Lake Park) in the 50 freestyle (25.97) and Jensena Paul (So., Portage, Wis.) in the 200 backstroke (2:22.26). 

Carthage plays host to Wheaton College (Ill.) on Saturday, Jan. 23 in a 1 p.m. dual meet at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
